New Horticulture Program!

Branch Out is a FREE program, delivered by Greenlife Industry Victoria, designed to give students hands-on experiences and insights into the diverse career pathways the horticulture industry offers, inspiring the next generation to consider a rewarding future in the industry.

Branch Out will:

  • Deliver immersive learning experiences for Victorian secondary students (Years 7–10, adaptable to Years 11–12).

  • Provide in-class facilitation and an incursion led by industry experts.

  • Offer an excursion/immersive to a horticultural business.

  • Raise awareness among teachers and students about modern horticultural careers.

Participating schools will be provided:

Lesson Plans - There is an option of 4 engaging topics to choose from, each with 5 Victorian-curriculum aligned unit lesson plans containing everything required to teach students about:

  • Botany Basics

  • The World of Photosynthesis

  • Importance of Soila

  • Plant Reproduction

Teachers will be provided with support during the planning and delivery of these units of learning. Click here to see an overview of the lesson plans.

Incursion - A free NGIV-facilitated incursion as part of the lesson plans

Excursion - A free NGIV-facilitated excursion/immersion to visit a local horticulture business or project.
